Edge Computing on the enterprise campus offers the best of both worlds for modern automation systems: highly scalable computing and data sovereignty.
We are excited to share our collaboration with German Edge Cloud and Fraunhofer IPK in order to pilot Edge-based navigation and AI “as a Service” with the help of a low-latency 5G campus network.
At Berlin’s renowned Production Technology Center, our joint project is considering the following features:
Offloading realtime-critical software service to the Edge
Implementing redundancy concepts to guarantee 100% uptime
Flexible scaling of AI services
Semantically enhanced safety and human-robot collaboration
Seamless M2M communication with stationary robots and manipulators
