Successful first test drive of Whizzy

5G-Enabled Delivery Robot “Whizzy“

"I love Whizzy", could be heard last week from many of the guests present in Strausberg during the first test drive of the robot on the premises of the economic development agency of the Märkisch-Oderland district in Strausberg. "Whizzy" is an autonomous delivery robot that will start delivering goods from local retailers to customers in Strausberg as early as next year. The idea is to strengthen the retail trade in rural areas against the online retail giants.

We were very pleased about the participation of Daniela Kluckert MdB, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and Transport, as well as about the participation of the Deputy District Administrator Rainer Schinkel and the Mayor of Strausberg Elke Stadeler.

At the end of the Mylog MOL project next year, customers will be able to order goods from local retailers via the internet. Then the robots will move out and pick up the ordered goods from the retailers connected to the system and bring them directly to the customers.

In order for "Whizzy" to be able to manoeuvre safely and accident-free through Strausberg next year, networked sensors must be set up at some of the city's intersections via mobile radio. The robots are controlled via 5-G technology and real-time traffic analyses.
